kb2961042 – Printer server goes offline when you wake up the computer at another network location

Microsoft has released a fix for Win RT 8.1, Win 8.1 and Win Server 2012 R2 to fix printers from going offline.

As quoted from the MS website:

“Consider the following scenario:

•You have a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
•You connect to a printer server that is shared on a Windows Server.
•You put the computer into a sleep mode and move it to another network location.
•You wake up the computer and try to print by using the shared printer.
In the scenario, the printer server goes offline in the client spooler even though it is actually reachable. “
